MAZ ARMAPROM

The Mirgorod plant ARMAPROM is a company with a long history. It was founded in Mirgorod, Poltava region, in 1946 to produce wheels and furnace castings, and in 1956 it was transformed into a foundry and mechanical plant. In 1963, the plant received new production workshops for the preparation of steam-water fittings production. Since 1965, it has been known as the Fittings Plant. It produces cast iron valves and brass fittings: valves, tees, and adapters. After a major reconstruction in 1966-1975, new workshops were built on another production site, and the plant was re-profiled into an enterprise for the production of shut-off, protective, regulating, and safety pipeline fittings made of corrosion-resistant steels. The production of non-ferrous fittings remained in the workshops of the “old” plant.

Currently, the enterprise manufactures industrial pipeline fittings used in oil and gas production and processing complexes, as well as in the chemical, mining and metallurgical, pharmaceutical, energy, food, and other sectors of the national economy. Large-sized fittings are manufactured by casting. The plant has a full cycle of valve production – a steel-making shop, a machining shop, an assembly section, a modern testing complex, and a warehouse facility. The unique steel-making converter with gas-oxygen refining (GKR) technology operating as part of MAZ ARMAPROM allows the production of steel grades 02Х18Н11, 03Х17Н13М2Т, 03Х20Н16АГ6, 03Х24Н6АМ3, 04Х15С(Т) and other unique acid-resistant and precision steels for the creation of a new generation of pipeline fittings.

Molding – using cold-hardening mixtures (alpha-set process) from FAT (Germany) and shell molding (crooning process, coated mixture).

Machining shop. Machine park – 780 units. Capable of high-precision machining of parts.

Design bureau. Modern three-dimensional modeling system, SprutCAM software package for creating programs for processing parts of varying complexity on 3-, 4-, and 5-axis CNC machines in the manufacture of dies, molds, casting molds, product prototypes, master models, machine parts, and structures.

Model equipment manufacturing section – five-coordinate CNC machines.

Certified factory laboratory. Mechanical and spectral laboratories. All types of non-destructive testing, including dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing, ultrasonic and X-ray testing.

Testing complex.

Welding department certified according to EN ISO 14732.

The plant mass-produces pipeline fittings with diameters of 50-1200 mm and pressure ratings of 10-450 bar, and fulfills orders for the manufacture of pump housings, engines, agricultural machinery, parts for machine-building, mining, and metallurgical equipment, and products for the food, medical, and chemical industries. It has the capacity to cast ingots weighing from 1 to 5 tons for further forging.

The technical re-equipment program implemented at the enterprise in 2009–2018 made it possible to:

– Radically change the quality of casting (with the commissioning of a modern FAT molding line manufactured in Germany),

– Improve the quality and speed of model equipment manufacturing (new 5-axis CNC machines DAHLIN 7200),

– Expand the possibilities of machining large-sized parts,

– Master the production of fittings for thermal power plants

The products of the Armaprom plant comply with regulatory requirements and hygiene standards, and are safe to use and environmentally friendly. Complies with the requirements of the ISO 9001 quality management system. Complies with the requirements and technical regulations of TR TS-032 and TR TS-010 (including for particularly hazardous industries).

In 2014, the plant certified its products for supply to European Union countries – TUV NORD certificates and the CE mark – a certificate of safety for products supplied to EU countries.
